Microsoft recently released an update for that to fix the issue random reboots on some phone. Try checking phone update. settings >phone update >check for updates.... And wait

So I check regularly for updates... at least for the updates released for my phone... I've got them all. During one of my phone's active moments yesterday I was able to check and verify this.
So last night it stopped resetting itself constantly (about 24 hours after it began...whew!). It's worked normally today so far. It's just bizarre.

I've replaced the SD card multiple times (thinking that was the problem) and it keeps happening, so I don't think that is the problem. The SIM? I don't have another one to use unless I poach my wife's for a bit.
At any rate, after rebooting continually for 12 hours, last night it stopped rebooting and appears to be working normally. Until the next time anyway...

So I'm beginning to think this may be a hardware problem with the power button. After working for about 12 hours, the cycle began again and hasn't stopped. I've given up... I'm using my old Nexus 4 for the time being until I figure out when I can afford a new WP.
Any suggestions?
I appreciate the feedback given, but either the software on my phone is hopelessly corrupted for some reason or the hardware is faulty. I got 16 months out of a $40 phone so I guess I can't complain too much. At this point I cannot get the OS running to do any further diagnostics and frankly it's not worth taking to a professional to get worked on.

I fixed my phone, that was not moving from the "powerup" screen/mode, & it would not turn on or gain a charge. I did that by putting a piece of thin card board(the kind that is the back board for most packaged items- thick paper) along the end of the battery to get a solid battery contact. OR- So, I wonder if your phone loses battery contact and goes into it's reset mode at the point that you described;so it continues to try reading the SD or SIM OR the physical contact of those cards is loose & cannot make full contact there.
